Soul clutter

This is a season of letting go for me. I’m trying to get rid of too many things through donations, recycling, and when necessary, throwing out. It is easy to focus on the physical and material world and taking care of clutter.

But what about letting go of the things that weigh down our hearts, our minds, our spirits? That is another matter.

Today I pray that we can all support one another in our efforts to decultter our souls. Which of these things or others need to be cleared out of your life?

  1. Thank you for this reminder. I have a hard time letting go of the clutter in our home that is mine, especially memorabilia. But reading your post today, I could relate to all the ‘clutter’ in my soul that’s weighing down my soul, the true me.

It reminds me of a line from “My Fair Lady” when Rex Harrison says about women: “Straightening up their hair is all they ever do. Why don’t they straighten up the mess that’s inside?”

Thank you, Fran. I now have a better feeling about decluttering my life.

  2. It is a fantastic list of things to let go of. An inspiring invitation to a closer look at those unfreedoms that keep me away from the One ❤️ Thank you, Fran. Now it’s up to me 🙂 xoxo

  3. Hi Fran,  Thanks for sharing this reflection on soul clutter!  As you know, addressing my physical clutter has been a priority since my office renovation in May, then the basement flood in June; and the soul clutter includes addressing many items listed on the graphic you included in your post…May we continue clearing space to allow God’s graces to enter more fully in our lives! Love, Donna Marie
